Awww! I LOVED that tribute to NYC...makes me kinda wish I lived there (or had at one point), even though I seriously don't think I could hack it.
And that ad asking for new upstairs neighbors...Classic! I have one of those myself, so it was both hilarious and way too close to home for me. :o)
And again, congrats on the job!! Yay!

Howard: I love Craigslist! The "research" wasn't too hard -- many of those posts had already made it to their "Best Of" list for New York. (By the way, they also have a "Best Of" list for Denver; you should check it out!) Some of the "free rent" posts for New York were so good that they've made they way to the pages of Time Magazine. New York is special.
AmyD: That tribute is one of my favorites. I, like the woman who wrote that post, left Chicago to come to New York. I don't know that woman, but it's clear that (for whatever reason) she went back to Chicago. I can't go back because, if I did, I'd probably feel exactly like she felt when she wrote that Craiglist post. I'd miss New York if I ever left it.

Craiglist just makes you want to pack your bags and fly over to nyc and get a glimpse of the craziness. I'm all for the madness of the moment :)

You've seriously made me want to live there at some point in my life for at least a few years! Ah the free entertainment! I wish I knew all this before I came there for just one random weekend (the only time I've ever been to NYC). You have to do this more!

momok: Ohhhh, you're blocked from Craigslist??? :( And, by the way, the banana in the miniskirt thing isn't as scary as you'd think it would be. I have a friend who cross-dresses. But, then again ... I've never seen him in a mini-skirt ... and I've never seen his banana.

The Belfast Craigslist postings are an assortment of people looking for sex and Americans looking for entertainment/information/sex. It hasn't really caught on over here. I like reading the New York and San Francisco posts. Hilarious. Stolie, I hope the new job works out!

Yeah, it's weird, right? It's like Craigslist takes on different flavors in different cities. For example, in Chicago, people don't normally use Craigslist to find apartments. That's what the >Reader is for ... and, besides, Chicago has all of those "For Rent" signs everywhere. In New York, you never really see "For Rent" signs and, of course, there's no Reader. Ahhhh, I miss the Reader.
